Week of March 2-6, 2015

Welcome to the month of March!!!  This week we have many things to do here at Ac2E MS.  In 7th grade reading we will continue working with STAAR reading strategies and also continue reading the novel "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by J.K. Rowling. TEKS 7.2(A) , Figure 19(D) .

• MONDAY: Start on Lesson 1 in Measuring up. "The San Antonio River Walk" passage.
• Using affixes in context
• TUESDAY: "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" 
• Chapter 11-12 Vocabulary Study
• Homework: Read chapters 11-12
• WEDNESDAY: Students will take a STAAR Minitest: Vocabulary Development
• "Shalom, Salaam, Aloha!" passage
• THURSDAY: "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
• Chapters 11-12 - understanding the story & discussion questions
• HOMEWORK: read chapters 13-14 over spring break
• FRIDAY: Math activity day.  
• last day before spring break

• Keep up with all assigned novel readings.
• End of year field trip $ is due April 3, 2015.
•  Thursday is college t-shirt day.
• SPRING BREAK: MARCH 9-13, 2015
• Classes resume MONDAY March 16, 2015.

Week of Feb. 23-27, 2015

Welcome to the last week of February!  This week will be a very productive week for all students at Ac2E MS.  In reading we will be working on STAAR test taking skills and also continuing with our novel "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by J.K. Rowling.  TEKS 7.2(E), Figure 19(D)

• Monday: Start on lesson 11 from Measuring Up.
• Using a dictionary, a glossary, or a thesaurus.
• Tuesday: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
• Chapters 9-10 vocabulary and dictionary detective handout.
• Homework: read chapter 10.
• Wednesday: Finish lesson 11 from Measuring Up.
• On your own passage: "Speech: Dances of the Vocal Tract"
• Thursday: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
• Chapters 9-10 chapter summary and understanding the story.
• Homework: read chapter 11. 
• Friday: Starr County Youth Fair Field Trip.

REMINDERS:

Week of February 16-20, 2015

This week we will continue to take District  Benchmarks in Math and Reading. We will be reviewing the context clues in a story in order to understand the meaning of unfamiliar words in a sentence. We will also continue reading Harry Potter chapters 7-9.

Reading benchmark Wednesday, Feb. 18th. 

Book fair all week. 

$2.00 for Youth Fair field trip due ASAP.

Week of February 9-13, 2015

I'm back!!!!! I want to thank all of my students for being patient with me while I was out because of my health. Thank you for being awesome with the sub!!!

This week we will be administering the 7th grade Writing benchmark on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Please make sure you are present both days and please try your very best on the exam. Friday we will be having a Valentine's Day dance.

College shirt day is on Thursday. 

$2 and permission slip is due asap for the Starr County Fair field trip.
