Salt + Chalk Jar Project...
If you signed up for my seminar please make sure you bring the following materials:

1. Jar (must have lid)
2. Salt
3. Chalk (4 different colors)
4. Glue

Week of November 17-21, 2014

This week we will be reading chapters 7-12 of the novel 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas' by John Boyne. We will be discussing every chapter in group discussions everyday. Students, before we take our Thanksgiving break  I would like for you to think about what will the second half of the novel be like? 

REMINDERS:

Discussion questions are due on a daily basis. 

One chapter per night is the assigned reading homework. 

Quiz on chapters 7-10 on Thursday. 

Bring your novel to class everyday.

Week of November 10-14, 2014

Welcome to the 3rd six weeks! 

We have started to read a new novel, "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" by John Boyne. This week we will work on imagery within the novel. 

REMINDERS:

Discussion questions are due on a daily basis. 

You need to read a chapter everyday. 

Chapters 1-6 quiz on Friday!

Don't forget to bring your book to class everyday!

Week of October 20-24, 2014

        We FINALLY finished reading the novel "The Outsiders"!!!!!  What did you think about the novel? Did you like the ending? Can you relate to Ponyboy or any of the Greasers?
        This week we will be reviewing and taking a final novel exam over the entire book.  I expect the absolute best from all of my students.  If you read the novel throughout the course, you will ace this test.

This week we will FINALLY finish reading the novel "The Outsiders" by S. E. Hinton. We will read the last three chapters of the novel. What do you think about the ending of the novel? Did you like the ending or could you think of a better ending?
