Week of April 10-13, 2017

Welcome to another great week at Ac2E Middle School! This week in 7th grade Reading we will continue to read our novel 'I Am Malala' and homework will be given on Monday and it will be due on Thursday.  We will also be working in our interactive notebooks with non-fiction text structures.  I know this week is a short week due to the Easter Holiday but I encourage everyone of my students to come to school everyday! Let's have an awesome week!!!

Week of April 3-7,2017

Welcome to another fantastic week at Ac2E Middle School.  I would like to congratulate all of my 7th grade students for having tremendous success in our Reading District Benchmark #2, 99% passing and 43% level III is something to be very proud of.  Now that we only have 23 instructional days left until the Reading STAAR exam we need to work harder than ever to reach our goal of 100% passing and 50% level III.  We are almost there and I know we can do this together!!!!

This week in 7th grade reading we will continue reading our novel 'I am Malala'.  We will read part three.  You will get the part three questions on Monday and they will be due on Friday! While you are reading the novel I want you to put yourself in Malala's shoes, how would you feel if you were in her situation and was not allowed an education just because you are a girl?

Remember that Friday is the last day of the Six Weeks and you need to turn in any late assignments if you have any by then.  Let's have a great week!

Week of March 27-31, 2017

Welcome to another great week at Ac2E Middle School.  This week will be a very important week for all students in our school.  We will be taking our STAAR examinations as well as district benchmarks.  On Tuesday 7th graders will be taking the Writing STAAR test.  On Wednesday 7th graders will be taking the Reading District Benchmark #2.  I am positive that all of our students will excel in these exams.  I want to wish the best of luck to everyone and remember to relax and concentrate during these exams.  This week in 7th grade Reading we will continue to read our novel 'I Am Malala'.  We will be reading part two this week and homework will be due on friday!

Week of March 20-24, 2017

Welcome to another great week at Ac2E Middle School.  I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful spring break.  This week in 7th grade reading we will be starting our new novel 'I am Malala' (young readers edition).  This is the first non-fiction novel that we will read and I hope we enjoy reading it!  Everyone needs to have the book by Monday, March 20th! Don't forget to bring your book to class everyday!!!!

Week of February 20-24, 2017!

Welcome to another great week at Ac2E Middle School.  This week in 7th grade reading we will be finishing our novel 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas' by John Boyne.  We will be working on a PLOT map activity and reviewing for the final exam of the novel.  The final novel exam will be on Thursday.  We will also be going to the STARR COUNTY YOUTH FAIR on Friday.  Let's have a great week!

Week of February 13-17, 2017

Welcome to another GREAT week at Ac2E Middle School.  I am very proud of all the my 7th graders who did an exceptional job in their 'I Am' poems/projects.  You all surprised me with your imagination and creativity.  These projects will be displayed in my classroom and in the 7000 hallway. 
This week in 7th grade reading we will continue reading our novel 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas' by John Boyne.  We will also be working with our interactive notebook and studying the different parts in a Drama.

Welcome to another great week at Ac2E Middle School.  This week in 7th grade reading we will continue to read our novel 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas' by John Boyne.  We will also work in our interactive notebooks and analyze the three different types of irony: verbal irony; dramatic irony; situational irony.  Don't forget the 'I AM' poem is due Friday, February 10th!
